A long overdue beginning

It’s safe to say this website is long overdue. My boutique, Hint of Bougie, has been open for almost a year now, and for the past twelve months I’ve been trying to motivate myself to finally launch the website.

If I’m honest, I think a little fear was standing in my way — that classic “get out of your own way” moment we all face sometimes.

So, let’s start from the beginning.

'a hint of jasmine' and 'Hint of Bougie' — why both, and what’s the story behind them?

'a hint of jasmine' began when I decided to shift my creative focus. For years, I designed competition suits for fitness competitors, but I wanted to explore something more personal — apparel and accessories that reflected my love of culture, color, and craftsmanship.

A short time later, a dear friend and colleague suggested we open a physical space that could bring together a variety of offerings under one roof. From that conversation, 'Hint of Bougie' was born.

So here’s how it all fits together:

This website is dedicated to all things 'a hint of jasmine'. Every item you see here is one-of-a-kind — inspired by my love of culture, color, and romance. Whether the piece is handmade by me or crafted by another artisan, you can be sure it’s been personally selected with intention and love.

As I type this, I’m sitting on a patio overlooking the lush, green expanse of Chiang Mai, Thailand. It’s not lost on me how lucky and blessed I am to be here. The serenity, the warmth, the quiet beauty of this country — my mother’s homeland — inspire me deeply.

It’s that feeling I hope to bring home through my work: a sense of calm, beauty, and connection that lives and breathes in this place and its people. My people.
